Testimonials

It's always great to receive positive feedback.  It's good to know that we make a difference to staff well-being, and help our clients to reach their goals.
Take a look...

John worked with a high level of emotional intelligence, integrity and a collegial approach as in any given week he may have been working with governors, trustees, headteachers, middle leaders and NQTs.  He was highly regarded by his colleagues and peers who all speak highly of his collegial and supportive approach and his ability to be a highly effective coach and mentor.  He  presented on my behalf to aspiring CEOs as part of the Ambition School Leadership programme for Executive Leaders and also to DfE, MPs and other stakeholders as part of the Challenger Trust Education Committee, chaired by former National Commissioner, Frank Green, CBE.

John's professionalism is coupled with a high level of emotional intelligence, a keen sense of humour, which is used effectively to build trust and rapport and an ability to motivate and inspire those around him. He is totally reliable, self-motivated and a highly effective senior and executive leader.

John has a passionate and abiding interest in research in teaching, learning and leadership.  His professional development programmes are grounded in strong evidence of effective practice including the work of Hattie, Lemov and others.

In the last year, two of our academies have recently achieved “Good” grades from Ofsted in July and September 2018. This is in no small part as a result of John’s contribution to the professional development delivered at both academies and to his support to both Headteachers and their leadership teams.

After the success of last year’s visit, John came back to Vienna to lead 2 days of staff development in October. He planned the workshops specifically to fit our needs, sharing materials in advance, so that we could be sure they fitted our school philosophy and terminology. John is an engaging presenter, who conducts his sessions as you would an outstanding lesson, actively demonstrating practical strategies which teachers can use next lesson. At the same time the ideas he raised had a sustained impact, providing the impetus for action research which was the driving force for our professional learning community for the next half semester. John’s excitement about learning and passion for his students are infectious, and played a significant role in helping us to establish an improvement culture at the school.

Thank you for a great meeting today, I felt so positive afterwards and really focused on how to move forward.
Really looking forward to our next session!

John's sessions have deepened staff understanding of meta-cognition and provided methods to trial in class this term as we prepare to make meta-cognition a key element of our SIP. The training was excellent, engaging and well received by all.

I was grateful to receive marking and feedback guidance from a professional who is current and in is a position to offer manageable, efficient strategies. Thank you!

The training provided us with a way forward. There were opportunities to listen, share, think and analyse practise. We also had a chance to plan for next steps. It was well facilitated.

The training was excellent. Often with training one feels like they are being talked at about areas they already know. This was not the case yesterday. I was engrossed and came away with lots of new information and ideas.

I will challenge the pupils I work with, to use a variety of sentence structures to make their work more exciting and interesting to read. I will be able to support more thoroughly as my knowledge has been increased, by the training and I now have a booklet to take with me full of notes.

John's enthusiasm for teaching was evident during the training and his knowledge expansive. Thank you for the reading recommendations and introducing John Hattie's 'Visible learning'. The techniques in the video clips demonstrating how to engage all learners were excellent.
